Come Celebrate Cullman!
Join us this Friday, August 02, for the third annual "Celebrate Cullman!" This community wide celebration presented by the Cullman Downtown Merchants Association in conjunction with the Cullman City Parks and Recreation Department gets underway at 4:00 pm. We'll be celebrating carnival style with many retail stores staying open late. There is something fun planned for all ages!!
Celebrate Cullman began after the devastating tornadoes in April 2011. The first celebration was planned at a time when folks were physically and emotionally exhausted. The community had been working tirelessly cleaning up from the many homes and businesses that had been destroyed. The event was planned to allow the community the opportunity to come together for a short while to relax, have fun, and celebrate the unbroken spirit that makes Cullman the special place that it is. Over two years later, historic downtown Cullman has recovered and is better than ever!
This year's planned events include live music on 2 stages. Stage one is located across from Cutie Patooties and Berkeley Bobs and will host Patrick Duncan & Girls and the Deltones. The second stage is located at the Festhalle Market Platz and will feature Coal Rain, Vintage Cowboys and Booty Shakers. Please visit www.celebratecullman.com for performance times.
Other events and activities include drinks at the Festhalle Marketplatz, a variety of live entertainment at local restaurants, food vendors including Rumor's Deli food cart, a charity antique auction in front of Finders Keepers, local arts and crafts at The Shops at 3rd Street Promenade and horse rides. A historic candlelight walking tour of Cullman will take place at 7:00 pm from Weiss Cottage.
There's plenty of fun activities to keep the kids entertained! There will be carnival rides and bouncies, carnival style games and activities with prize giveaways, a cow train, balloon animals, obstacle course, big wheel races and so much more!! Visit www.celebratecullman.com for detailed information, maps, and performance times.
Southern Accents will be open on Friday till 5:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm. Please stop by, say hello, and browse our incredible selection of architectural antiques and salvage.
